Postpartum me is all about one thing: making nourishment EASY. 🤍
One of the sweetest postpartum gifts I received wasn't baby-related at all—it was a Walmart+ membership from a dear friend. Between newborn snuggles, healing, feeding a baby, and caring for my family, having groceries delivered to my doorstep has been one less thing to think about.
Here's what's stocked in my postpartum snack cart and why I chose each item:
🥛 Mommy Knows Best Lactation Cookies – A convenient snack made with ingredients commonly found in lactation products like oats and flax. While no cookie can guarantee an increase in milk supply, they're an easy way to fuel your body during long feeding sessions.
🍌 Organic Bananas – One of the easiest grab-and-go snacks! They're packed with carbohydrates for quick energy, potassium to support muscle function, and they're gentle on sensitive postpartum stomachs.
🦃 Turkey & Cheddar Snack Trays – Protein helps support healing and keeps you feeling full longer. Pairing protein with healthy fats can also help stabilize energy throughout the day.
🐟 Tuna Snack Kits – Shelf-stable, high in protein, and full of omega-3s, making them perfect for those moments when you realize you forgot to eat.
🥩 Chomps Beef Sticks – Another easy protein option that doesn't require refrigeration. Great to toss in your diaper bag or keep by your nursing station.
🫐 Nature's Bakery Fig Bars – A quick source of carbohydrates for those middle-of-the-night feeds when you need energy fast.
🍓 MadeGood Granola Bites – Individually packaged, allergy-friendly, and perfect for tossing into your pocket before heading out the door.
🍫 Dark Chocolate (Dove Promises) – Because postpartum nutrition also includes joy. Dark chocolate contains a little magnesium and antioxidants—but mostly, it reminds us that moms deserve treats too.
🥜 SkinnyDipped Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups – A little protein, a little healthy fat, and a whole lot of happiness. Balance > perfection.
🍪 Nutella Biscuits – Because not every snack has to be "healthy." Sometimes nourishment looks like eating something that simply makes you smile during a hard day.
✨ Postpartum nutrition isn't about perfection. It's about having foods within reach that support healing, milk production (if you're breastfeeding), energy, hydration, and yes—even comfort.
Fed moms recover better than hungry moms. 💛
✨ A gentle reminder: Access to fresh, nutrient-dense foods isn't equal for every family. Budget, transportation, food deserts, culture, and time all play a role. There is no shame in feeding yourself with what is accessible to you. Nourishment looks different for every family, and doing your best with what you have is enough. 🤍
